19
Put out positive energy into the world, and positive energy will come back to you.
I'm quite happy in life right now. I'm seeing a guy who seems to dig me quite a bit, and I have to say, he isn't too bad himself. Work is going as well as it can for what I am doing. I am making plenty friends to hang out with in the fall, so I don't fall back into the old trap of sitting in my ex's room watching tv while he plays video games on the computer.
But something else that was quite nice that just happened to me is that I had a nice little chat with my ex from when I was in grade 10. After we broke up he started drinking a lot and got into drugs. I found out tonight that he is going to go to Siast to become a drug counselor, so that got me thinking that he probably kicked the stuff. Sure enough, he had a terrible experience with acid and fucked up his brain for two months. I am so proud of him for cleaning up and doing something wonderful with his life, by helping out other people from their problems with drugs and alcohol. I always knew he was better than that. Although we only dated for just under two months, he was still my best friend for many months before that. My night just got exponentially better hearing about that.
19 seems to be shaping up to be the best year yet. I am happy, quasi healthy, and motivated to be the best I can back at Regina during the school year. I also purchased the camera that I had been fawning over for the past two years. Happy birthday to me indeed.

My soul just died...
Fuck you, MTV, fuck you hard.
I don't even know what to say about this. I'm just mad. Flabbergasted. I thought it was bad enough that Bill and Ted was going to be remade... but Rocky? My favorite movie of all time? This is rape in it's worst form. Totally unnecessary.
RIP - Any decency that Hollywood had left.

Don't you wanna feel my bones on your bones?
I have a new favorite website for window shopping.
http://www.boneroom.com/

I think having an articulated rat skeleton in a room would be classy, and quite the conversation starter. It would be even cooler if you were the one to put together that skeleton (they actually have directions how to clean the bones on the site).
Am I getting at something here? Of course, I always am. I think it would be a lot of fun, and a great art project to put together an articulated rat skeleton. Whoever has a dead rat... call me.
Ooh! Now that I look around a little more extensively, bird skulls are really neat as well.
Below are chicken and parakeet skulls.

I'm not "sick". Bones are beautiful. As I told a girl to tell her mom who didn't want her to buy any skull jewelery. What's so bad about it? We all have bones. It's just the bad rap they have gotten with the association with death.
Besides... how many people can say that they have a parakeet skull?
Frightfully yours,
❀Amy

The Forbidden Kingdom
I just got back from seeing The Forbidden Kingdom. I really had some skepticisms during the opening scene... but the movie sorted itself straight away. Really neat storyline, a whole lot of fights. I'm a big Jackie Chan and Michael Angarano fan, and seeing them together was a treat.
What I was really into was all of the Drunken Masters references in the movie. I'm not so much into the wire work, even though I should still respect it as an art form. I did find that it didn't bother me too much because of the storyline and circumstances with immortal beings. Another problem was with the wig one character wore. If you have enough money to produce a movie with this much CGI, I'm sure you can afford a wig that looks more natural than this. She looked like she just walked out of a Anime Convention.
During the movie I couldn't help thinking about the future of Kung Fu movies, if CGI and wire fighting has won once and for all. It's not like Jackie Chan is a spry young man anymore, but I really long for the fight scenes with a longer camera angle so you can tell that what you are seeing was properly choreographed and pulled off. At times this movie gave me a bit of a sensory overload with all of the CGI and fast angle changes.
Overall this movie did it's job. It pulled together elements from many classic Martial Arts films and combined it with the style of more recent ones. Very entertaining. The costumes were beautiful and even moreso the shooting locations in China.
B+
I want to see it again soon.
