Happy New Year!
In an attempt to revive this blog, I've decided to post some links to a few sites that have brought me great happiness (aka: lulz) in the past little while.
1. Overheard in New York.
Just as the name attests, it is a collection of pieces of overheard convorsations and statements from the people living in the Big Apple.
The quotes range from the odd...
"Student: You know how snakes can swallow their food whole? What if a person swallowed a snake whole, and then the snake turned inside out, and then ate the person from the inside? That would be awesome."
...to the rauncy...
"20-ish chick on cell: But how can I be getting old? I just gave someone an over-the-pants handjob at a bar last night!"
...to the downright crazy.
"Crazy lady on bus: The turkeys! The turkeys! All you people care about is the turkeys and how they feel! What about the carrots and candied yams? No one cares about them!"
This only magnifies my desire to go to New York tenfold. I personally love all the announcements made by train(subway) conductors.
2. Thinkin' Lincoln
This webcomic can go without an explanation... some characters include Lincoln, Washington, Charles Darwin and Skeleton Shakespear. Check out the comic titled 'Vice Cop Squad'.
3. The Meth Minute 39
Hilarious videos made by Dan Meth.
I reccomend the video 'P-Cok'
4. Free Rice
If you haven't done this yet! Go to this site! Improve your grammar and fight to end world hunger a the same time! Bookmark it! I've got it on my quick links!
5. iCiNG
Gala Darling is my hero and I'm addicted to her blog. She's an adorable New Zealander/Australian writer with (Currently) purple hair. This is the site where I originally found Overheard in NY, along with a plethora of other fantastic sites.
Update on the home front:
- My ultra nice Russian Zenit 122k finally was delivered, so I'm excited to head home this weekend to start playing with it.
- Gigantour is coming to Saskatchewan this year and I'll be there. The lineup isn't very good though, but seeing Children of Bodom will be quite awesome.
- I got a strange offer to go acting in some dinner theatre murder mystery from some guy on facebook whom I've never heard of. It was even stranger because he said I had been recommended to him by some casting director I had also never heard of before.
- Rockband is too fun for words.
